Portable power specs, verified.
How We Pick
Every product recommendation on Wattovia follows the same method. This page documents it so you know exactly what stands behind a pick — and what doesn’t.
What we verify
1. Manufacturer-published specifications. We pull key specs (capacity in watt-hours, continuous output in watts, battery chemistry, recharge time, weight) from the brand’s own product page or official documentation first, and from a major retailer’s listing second. 2. Prices. Every product we publish carries its exact price, verified at a named retailer. If we can’t verify a price, we leave the price cell blank instead of guessing. 3. Relevance and availability. We include models that are real, currently sold, and relevant to home users. Discontinued models, region-locked variants, commercial-only units, and models under active safety recalls are excluded from our rankings.
What we never do
- We never claim hands-on testing we didn’t do. Unless an article explicitly describes a test we ran, our picks are “verified specs + exact prices” — transparent research, not lab reviews.
- We never estimate or fill in gaps. If a manufacturer doesn’t publish a spec, we leave it blank rather than infer it. If we can’t verify a price, we say “Not priced yet.”
- We never convert currencies. Prices shown are in USD; non-USD variants aren’t published at all.
- We never borrow another review site’s numbers. Spec tables and prices come from manufacturers and retailers — not from other reviewers’ pages or search-result snippets.
- We never let commissions pick winners. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
How rankings are built
For each category, we shortlist mainstream models from established brands, compare their verified specs side by side, and select picks for specific use cases (best overall, best value, best for camping, best for home backup, and so on). Every pick card shows the specs we verified, what it’s good for, what it’s not, and an honest verdict.
When a better model displaces a current pick — or a pick is discontinued or recalled — we update the guide and note the change.
